SSA-From the Inside

The Aggie Catholics blog offers a link to a moving testimony from a homeschooling wife and mom (of five) who faces a daily struggle with same-sex attraction while fully and happily embracing Catholic Church teaching.
Worth your time.

Couples discover TOB

The St. Louis Review is running a series of articles on Theology of the Body!
Married couples open eyes to blessings...
Embodiment of the Gift of Love features a priest and a sister (our own Sr Donna!): proof that TOB is not limited to teens or couples. If you are in the body, TOB is for you.

I hope these articles don't go behind a firewall too soon...

TOB Witness Story

Here's a marvelous picture of a Catholic marriage from blogger/podcaster Pat Gohn. Such are the fruits of a sacramental worldview and the sincere gift of self that holds nothing back.
Thanks, Pat, for sharing this intimate and profound vision.

An interview with Bishop Lafitte (Jean Lafitte: how's that for a name?) from the Pontifical Council for the Family. He specifies that Pope John Paul's work clearly "belongs to the Magisterium" since it is apparent that the Pope intended to present his series of talks as teachings. This is significant, because there are some voices in the world of theology that seem to write off the Theology of the Body as not being "Church teaching" because it was "only" delivered in the form of Wednesday audience talks. (Not to mention that the content of his talks has also been incorporated into the Catechism.)

International Symposium

Clayton Emmer posted the recorded talks from this month's International Theology of the Body Symposium. I'm finding the lectures immensely enriching; I think I may even use them for my annual retreat!

Tree of Life: a TOB film?

Sr Helena can't stop talking about Malick's "Tree of Life" (awarded the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival). She kept saying "It's a God movie; it's a Theology of the Body movie..." (Here's her review, and all the tweets she sent while the review was embargoed!) Fr. Robert Barron agrees that it's a God movie, big time.

Tree of Life opens in limited release today.
